An excerpt from a recent assignment as a part of my Cyber Security Curriculum. This is Part one of a three part assignment. Long after I forget this assignment, this post will serve as a reminder of just how annoying self-reflection activities are:

Prompt: What are your values, motivations, or aspirations?
\n\n\n\nAnswer: Values play an important role in decision making that I believe strongly influences what motivates you to grow as a person, including your professional identity. My curiosity is what continues to drive me to new learn things. As I\’ve grown as a person, I have discovered that I can use my curiosity to enrich other peoples lives by sharing my knowledge. This motivation has allowed me to set tangible goals professionally, enabling me to have a broader impact on those around me.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPrompt: What are some of your main personal, academic, and professional goals?
\n\n\n\nAnswer: When considering what is important to me, I try to set goals that will unlock new opportunities for me both personally a professionally.  In my line of work, I often interact with people that have been victims of scams involving technology and I consider how I could potentially be in their position myself.  My motivation to attend Strayer University and pursue a degree in Cyber Security is based on the stories of those who have been a victim of a cyber crime. I continue to find purpose in offering my support in finding ways to more securely use technology to enrich peoples lives.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPrompt: What are some of your strength areas? Think about the top 2–3 skills you would advertise about yourself or consider why people come to you for help or advice.
\n\n\n\nAnswer: I consider my adaptability to be a strong skill that allows me to embrace new challenges finding purpose in identifying creative solutions both individually and as a part of a team. As a leader within my organization, I make it a priority to demonstrate the behaviors I expect of others, to lead by example. I make it a point to provide context to a decision in an effort to earn the engagement of those around me instead. There is a considerable amount of value in respecting the individuality of those around you and finding commonality in a shared goal.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPrompt: What are some areas you would like to grow and improve in?
\n\n\n\nAnswer: I would like to strengthen my communication & relationship building skills. Technology makes it easier for us to connect & communicate with others. I believe the ability to engage an audience is an important part of what technology enables us to do. Improving my capacity as a facilitator is something I am focused on improving. Engaging large audiences as well as the delivery of information in a captivating way, are specific focuses of mine as a part of improving my role as a facilitator. Â
